Figure 4: Foam cell formation assay by DGM exposed THP-1 macrophages. Cells (1 × 105 cells) were exposed to (a) no additive, (b) Vehicle control (c) Niacin (100 μg/mL) (d) 20 (e) 60 and (f) 100 μg/mL of DGM extract for 24 h and 50 μg/mL ox-low-density lipoprotein was added to these macrophages and incubated for 24 h. Then Oil Red “O” staining was performed. Images were taken using Magnus INVI microscope at ×400 magnification. Vehicle control-dimethyl sulfoxide (10 μL/mL), standard - niacin (100 μg/mL)
