Figure 4: Response induced of injection of NG-Nitro-L-arginine Methyl Ester (L-NAME) (0.3-3 μg/rat, intra-central amygdala [CeA]) prior to L-arginine (1 μg/rat, intra-CeA) prior to naloxone injection (0.4 mg/kg, intraperitoneally [i.p.]) on day of testing of morphine response. The NO synthase inhibitor, L-NAME, was microinjected into the nucleus, promptly after which the NO precursor, L-arginine, was microinjected (intra-CeA).
