REVIEW ARTICLE
A review on a Novel Quinozolone Diuretic, Zaroxolyn ® (Metolazone)
Shetty B Vithal
January-March 1974, 6(1):40-53
A diuretic substance increases the excretion of urine by the kidney thereby decreasing body fluid.espiceially the extracellular fluids which comprise from 15-17% of normal body weight. One of the most significant therapeutic achievements of the pase decade has been the development of safe. Potent diuretic agents that are effective. When administered orally. Diuretic therapy has changed tremendiously in recent years not only because of development of new drugs but also because we now understand more about control of sodium and water excretion by the kidney and know more about the parthogenesis of edema.
