Action of organophosphorus compound (cythioate) on acetylcholine content and cholinesterase activity of rat brain |
p. 13 |
CP Doval, Gupta Indra
Cythioate, a systemic organophosphorus compound has progressively increased the acetylcholine (ACh) content (16.54 to 118.04%) and decreased the cholinesterase (ChE) activity (23.0 to 98.4%) of rat brain with 3 to 100 mg/kg doses given by i.p. route. Atropine protected the rats from the toxic effects of cythioate by blocking the action of ACh at the receptors without affecting Ach content and ChE activity.

Local anaesthetic activity of some acylamino phenothiazines |
p. 17 |
DS Vyas, JL Godhwani, VN Sharma, NM Srivastava, SP Garg
Six acylamino phenothiazines (A to F) were synthesised in our laboratory. Only compounds A,B,C and F showed local anaesthetic activity. The compound C with secondary amino group, though more potent than xylocaine, was more irritant. The compounds D and E with tertiary amino group were devoid of local anaesthetic activity.
