We thank the readers for the queries raised for our article. [1] Our replies to these queries are as follows:

Positive control group of animals were used and they were administered water (2 ml/kg).Certain analgesics exert their action by depressing CNS activity, which can lead to side effects like sedation, motor incoordination, etc. Hence, these studies were carried out to evaluate whether the mushroom extract possessed such activity.Post-hoc Dunnett test was used.Mushroom extract did not demonstrate sedative action, hence it was inferred that analgesic activity was not due to the sedative effect of the extract.No significant results were observed, hence they were not mentioned.Diclofenac is known to show effect by central action also. Hence, its use and the inferences thereof are justified. [2],[3] We respect the order from Drug Controller General (India). However, the ban on diclofenac is with respect to its veterinary use in livestock. The vultures have access to the carcasses of these animals which may be contaminated with diclofenac. The experimental animals are required to be disposed by incineration which restricts their access to vultures. Hence, the use of diclofenac sodium in experimental animals may not be considered improper.
