. Absorption and fate of iodine in 131I-Soluidine and Na131I was determined by radioactivity measurements using body segment counter after applying the respective solution to the intact abdominal skin of healthy human volunteers. In 6 days iodine absorption from 131I-Soluidine solution was 16%. Very small quantity i.e. less than 3%, was taken up by thyroid. Rest is eliminated from the body. Thyroidal concentration of iodine was insignificant. Soluidine solution was nonstaining, non-irritant and no adverse reactions were observed.
