A clinical evidence of chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) in man

1. A case of 4th ventricular tumour is being presented, which confirms the concept of CTZ in man. 2. Vomiting in this case was unresponsive to triflupromazine, metoclopramide and promethazine. It was controlled by intravenous hydrocortisone within 6 hours and recured after stopping steroids. 3. This may be attributed to release of pressure of the tumour on CTZ because of anti-inflammatory effect of hydrocortisone.
