1. Fifteen different 2 (substituted acetyl) amino-5-alkyl-I, 3, 4-thiadiazoles were synthesized. 2. These compounds were screened for spasmolytic and anti-inflammatory activities, 3. Compound AK-3, 2 (dimethyl amino acetyl) amino-5-propyl-1, 3, 4-thiadiazoles was found to possess potent spasmolytic activity. 4. Compound AK-5, 2 (diethyl amino acetyl) amino-5-ethyl 1, 3-4-thiadiazole was found to be an effective anti-inflammatory agent.
