1. Thiophanate methyl decreased spontaneous motor activity and body temperature.
2. It had no effect on pentobarbitone sleeping time, forced coordinated motor activity, conditioned avoidence response,convulsions induced by electrical stimulation or by pentylenetetrazol and did not exhibit local anaesthetic activity,
3. It had a significant analgesic effect.
