Studies on two novel anti-inflammatory indanylmethyltetrazoles
A Roy, SC Lahiri
(1) The results showed that only 5-(6'-methoxyindan-1'-y) methyltetrazole was more potent antiinflammatory agent than phenylbutazone in chronic tests though both the tetrazole derivatives were less potent than phenylbutaione in acute test
(2) The tetrazole derivatives were about 1.5 times more potent antipyretics than phenylbutazone whereas their analgesic potency was about 4 times less than that of the latter.
(3) These derivatives were much safer than phenylbutazone both in respect of their gastric ulcerogenicity and acute lethal toxicity.
